Anti-Toons as they appear in Rayman Origins.

Anti-Toons, also known as Darktoons, are evil Electoons that first appeared in Rayman. They are small, dark blue creatures with round bodies and aren't very nice to interact with. They have a strand of hair instead of two like Rayman. In the first and second game, their hair is silver, but in the Gameboy Color version of Rayman 1, the colour is changed to red. There are certain types of Anti-toons that attack differently. Their name is basically the electoon with an anti in front of it, so could be comparable (like electrons are to electoons) to positrons.

Anti-Toons are so short that Rayman must duck in order for his fist to hit them. When he kills them, their bodies would fly away and their eyes would bounce helplessly along the ground. Their eyes usually end up in the water and disappear.

Rayman 2: The Great Escape

They also rarely appeared in Rayman 2. Their eyes would float away once they were killed.

Rayman Raving Rabbids

A large, malformed, possessed purple Anti-toon named Bad-Note was featured as the first boss in the Gameboy Advance version of Rayman Raving Rabbids. It was defeated by punching the bandage on its head when it charged at Rayman.

Rayman Origins

The Anti-Toons reappear as a recurring enemy throughout all of Rayman Origins, and try to act as a deterent for collecting Skull Coins in some levels. The Anti-Toons also latch themselves onto some unfortunate Wizards in the game, though this does nothing more than blind their victims. All it takes to dislodge them is to attack them.

Rayman Legends

They appeared from the Rayman Origins Galleries.

  • They are one of the very few characters in Rayman 1 to appear in Rayman 2.
  • In an unreleased game for the PS2, Rayman was seen in a colosseum holding an Anti-toon by its hair.
  • They have seemingly infinite flying power.
  • In Rayman 1, Anti-Toons and Hunters are the only enemies to appear in every world.
  • In the first Rayman Game, their teeth appeared to look flattish but in Rayman Origins, they appeared to have sharp teeth.
  • Strangely in Rayman Origins, they appeared to have limbs. All types of electoons always appear to have no limbs.
